Balingkang Temple

From some temple buildings that you can meet in Kintamani, Pura Dalem Belingkang can be said to be one of the attractions that you cannot miss for your visit when you are vacationing in Kintamani. The reason is, this temple not only looks magnificent and also beautiful, let alone its location also presents incredible views. This temple actually also has some unique stories that will certainly make you want to visit it more quickly.

The first unique story is closely related to the name given to this temple itself, namely Pura Dalem Balingkang. The name was given to this temple because indeed at the beginning, this temple was a palace of a Balingkang (which in Balinese means king) named Sri Jaya Pangus. It is said that he said, this palace was also built in connection with a cultural difference between the king and a Chinese woman known as Tang Ci Keng. This may also be the reason why there is also a large megalith in the temple which is a representation of the King and his wife, which we can still see today.

Another uniqueness lies in the temple building itself. The building can be said to have a fairly ancient architectural style. This kind of temple building is quite rare to be found, including in Bali itself. Because it was once a palace, this temple building also had a kind of fortress on its outer part. Of course, in ancient times the fortress had functions like palace fortresses in general, namely to protect the inside of the palace, especially the king from outside attacks.

In this temple there is also a place of worship which is equipped with a symbol of a large Chinese coin. This is actually the most visited part of the temple because it is believed to bring good

Cave of Japan Klungkung

In Bali there are historical sites of Japanese heritage that attract attention, namely the Japanese Cave of Klungkung. In ancient times, this place was built by Japan with the aim of being a place for protection against enemies by the Japanese army. In Indonesia itself there are actually several Japanese caves and one of them is in Bali, namely in the Klungkung area.

This Japanese cave location is on the edge of the main highway that connects between Klungkung and Gianyar Regencies, made on a wall of high cliffs. The cliffs have a curved shape following the roadside contours. The Japanese cave of Klungkung was built around 1941-1942, at the beginning of Japanese rule.

Gua Jepang Klungkung has as many as 16 holes that line along approximately 200 meters at the foot of the cliff. This Japanese cave looks like there is no guard, but the condition inside the cave is kept clean. Indeed not so many tourists visit here, most who visit are also foreign tourists. This is because the Japanese Cave has a pretty mystical aura. The atmosphere inside the cave was dark and felt moist.

Because once this cave was also used as a place for the massacre of Japanese soldiers by allied troops. Many Japanese soldiers were killed inside here. So that’s why strange events often occur around the cave.

However, apart from that, the situation around the cave is quite beautiful. The area around the cave that is close to the highway is suitable as a resting place. You can stop by here to take a break while taking pictures. Many green plants grow across the road and above the cliff, making the atmosphere around them feel cool and shady.

For those of you who are curious about this Japanese cave, you can just come to the location, namely in Banjar Koripan, Banjarangkan Village, Banjarangkan District, Klungkung, Bali.
